Thoughts?
While I don’t mind the rust look, I almost hate the contrast between the rusty hoods and the rest of the nice paint.
Local car, which I think looks great.
While I can see a lot of work went into this paint job I do not feel that the look is all there. I think the chrome wheels really loose the look. With some nice chrome dishes and black steelies I think it might look ok. Clearly the interior would have to be finished.
I would really only want to do this on a rat rod or a brand new M5/Porsche.
Personally i think it looks like shit. Most people but the rusted hood on the cleanest cars and imo it just ruins it.

for me, rust paint is just like flat black.
looks great on expensive or really really nice cars, but stupid when you do it on a beater.
Aging models is cool. Aging real cars is stupid.

Rat rods are cool, rusty cars not so much.
you get the for free by driving in the winter, why would you PAY to have your car look like shit?

I think it might look cool on a brand new car, but looks shitty on everything else. Just not a fan I guess.

This is what happens to people in California who have never seen rust on anything.
They go for a different look.
Here in buffalo, most people drive pieces of shit rusty cars, so this trend will never take off here.
Fugly! And even worse when it’s a clean car and then rusted hood look. Like what most others have said, the effort is there but the idea just sucks.
