Just in case anyone is interested, I may be having some stuff chromed. If I do and anyone else wants anything chromed it will be cheaper per piece to to a larger batch. So let me know if you guys want to get anything done.
Mounts and controls. They look just like this except in black.

Bikes looking really good dude.
what’s the timeframe on this? my wife’s bike could use some chrome freshened up, but I’m not sure I want to take it down again, assuming I get it running anytime soon…
Well, I’m doing a vendor display booth at a car show in Harrisburgh on Aug 9. I want it to be done for that.
did they tell you how long for chroming to be done. i remember waiting a good while for turnaround. so just check on that. might be cutting it close right now at this point.
yeah, that seems pretty aggressive for the timeline and I don’t think I would make it with my stuff.
thanks for the offer though and good luck finishing this up! It looks good man. Hopefully see you at the auto-x this weekend.
If it cant get done by then I’ll probably just paint what I want chromed and do it over the winter.
I’m going to be at Mid Ohio this weekend working with the American Iron mustang. So no auto x for me.
fuck you guys for having 250 dollar controls… mine are like 750 grrrrr
haha. Just put a couple of tabs on your frame and use harley controls.
I got a front bumper that needs chromed
x2.
L & R Extreme forward mounts for the VTX are only $180 (in chrome). They use stock pegs/rear master cyl. I bought them about 5 years ago. They moved the pegs 3" out & 1" up (I think).
PM me for more info.
Front wheel in and new front sprocket
looks good
you gonna do a chain gaurd at all?
will keep the grease off your back. just a thought
The gaurd/plate mount is gonna be pretty much the same. It did need moved over a pinch on account of the wider wheel.
cool. Digging the wheels too. good choice.
18" rear and 19" front. I didn’t like the look of those frames with relatively small rake and short forks with a 21" front. Just looked like a “big wheel” pedal bike from when we where kids.
Yeah. Good call with the 19" front.
That lathe might come in handy if you have to make any more spacers.
I wish Frank would redesign that frame…
to
think that frame would be from Redneck Engineering. there frame is like that
Well, lots of work have been done but it doesn’t really appear any different. I made a crap load of spacers on a machine I have at my disposal. Also got he forward controls off of justin’s sportster. I added a gusset to the bars. Again, I’m pretty much copying Roland Sands vintage bars. And I’ve finally decided on a paint scheme. Its going to be a satin black frame and the tin will be a dark metallic green.
