So if a Toyota is built here, and a Ford is built in Canada or Mexico…
The truth is that there is almost no such thing as a domestic car anymore. Even cars that are assembled here have tons (often the majority) of its components built somewhere else. And all of the import nameplates are assembling cars here.
It’s a global market. The terms import and domestic don’t mean what they used to.
