Jamey Rodemeyer - Bullying/Suicide

Where were the parents at? And look where it’s at
Middle America, now it’s a tragedy
Now it’s so sad to see, an upper class ci-ty
Havin this happenin

He had a great point. This shit happens all the time but no one gives a shit until it happens in places like East Amherst. Same point I was trying to make a few days and like 100 posts ago. lol

Schools are not there to police bullying, or anything else for that matter. Their job is to educate. Human nature will always create situations like these. I’m not saying it’s right, and I’m no doctor or researcher of the human mind. How you parent your children shapes how they evolve. My son will be taught to be kind and helpful and no hully, and when the time comes time to be otherwise, be careful. I’m sure the mental abuse was horrible, but he needed to make another choice.

I agree that it may not be the school’s responsibility to police bullying, but I believe programs should be incorporated more enthusiastically to help make students aware of bullying issues and how to combat them. Studies have shown that all it takes to intervene in a bullying situation is taking two steps towards the victim. Meaning if any bystander (student) takes just two steps to be closer to the person being bullied, the bully will step down their attacks. And the more bystanders who do this, the greater affect it will have in forcing the bully to back down. It’s the old “strength in numbers” thinking at work. If we can educate kids about this to get more to take a stand against bullying in the appropriate (and nonviolent) manner, we can drastically reduce the amount of bullying that occurs in schools.

I agree with this. Schools need to take a more proactive approach to bullying with alot stricter reprocussions. fuck detentions. perma-ban them bitches from ever being able to attend a school again.

You should delete facebook. just sayin.

I just “unsubscribed” from those people posting the crap, whatever that means.

FWIW we were talking about this in my business class today. don’t ask me why. But one of my classmates went to the homecoming bonfire thing at his school and supposedly the kids who bullied him said they were glad he did it to jameys sister and his/her friends, and i guess lady gaga is going to give them a concert or some shit. and then the kids started fighting, and then the bully kids parents were trying to fight the friends parents saying their kids would never say things like that, while they were saying it infront of them. parenting in america

and i can’t believe you just referenced eminem lol

lady gaga needs to go away… far far away

maybe he was playing “the choking game” kids these days…

Yeah, he didnt stand a chance.

i have many mixed emotions about this.

I have two little girls, a 1 year old and a 3 year old. My daugther is the biggest in her class, honestly looks like a 1st grader because how tall she is (some of you guys on here have seen her). She certainly does not yet have to be worried about being “bullied” because of how tall she is over the other 3 year olds BUT when I brought her in for her first day, I got pissed at another parent. When all the kids were playing together my daughter sticks out like a sore thumb, and some dumb cunt says to another parent “gheesh, that girl looks like a first grader” in a nasty tone. I got pissed because statements like that show exactly what kids at home are taught. Ignorance teachs ignorance, racisim teachs racisim, etc etc. When that lady made that comment she did not know I was her father and I just stared at her to make her know I heard what she said. I have no tolerance anymore for dumb people, seriously. I hate to say it but, I just have no patience. I told my daughter, just like my father told me, if someone picks on you, confront them, if a kid is touching you and you dont like it, punch them right in the nose and I will take care of the rest. I will not tolerate my girls being bullied nor will I tolerate them bullying any other kids.

Bottomline is, its up to the parents to raise and protect thier kid. If you dont who will?

meh the punch them in the mouth ask questions later doesn’t really fly anymore, sad to say.

.

I agree so much with this.

Sad to see you guys so disillusioned with your own lives that compassion is impossible for you. I guess you’re all just weak minded.

says who? I will not tolerate a school that will not let my family protect themselves from others. If a school will not protect the kids, then the kids have to, period.

Everyone would be singing a different tune if he would have snapped and brought a gun to school and killed all of those kids. This situation could have EASILY ended like that, but by chance it didnt.

“thanks for the candy…”

I don’t like when gay people “sound gay”. You don’t actually talk like that, stop pretending that you do. Unless you were brought up around 500,000 gay people that talked like that then there is no reason for you to do it.

people always feel the need to put themselves out there, and then cry when you don’t accept them. or kill themselves.

Hai guysss!!!

deebo, but the fact remains its a free country. if a kid wants to play guns, play house, talk gangsta, talk gay, he should be able to. if you put yourself out there, he should expect there to be some kind of push back, but if its enough to cause someone to be so distraut that they feel there is no way out but to take their own life, then things have gone waaaaaaaaaaay to far. Imagine being the parents of the kid that took his own life. Being a parent, I dont know what I would do, seriously. Hunt down the kids that did this, blame myself, blame society, blame the parents? There would be so much inside rage and saddness, it would honestly eat me from the inside out.
