See I thought they were venting the steam/hydrogen into a subsystems building, not the basin rooms containing the SFP’s. Damnit all. Judgement call gone wrong in reality. Had to vent the radioactive material to another sealed buidling, but knew possible(and likely) explosion could cripple further cooling capacity. USNRC has commissioned studies after 9-11 about these pools in the USA, and subsequent risks if coolant drainage did occur, with further emergency coolign systems if such an event occurred.
Well I can guarantee with the amount of US military naval activity and overhead satellite coverage it will be caught on film and still. The fire would be awe inspiring despite the tremendous danger of it in health/environmental. I’m not fucking tree huger, but I still don’t want to see radioactive material spread across a foreign country like this, especially one so small. It would absolutely cripple Japan given the proper(but horrible) prevailing winds and poison the localized ocean without question.
For those keeping up with the terms, SFP/spent fuel pool is this:
Hope you fuckers didn’t want any shrimp and sushi this year
