JayS, AWD, Political Crew: Why do we cap SS tax?

Clearly you have never been to sub-saharan Africa.

FWIW, socialism has been tried. It doesn’t work. It turns out people will only work hard if it will get them ahead. Nobody wants to work for the betterment of someone else. Despite the cliche, I am not my brother’s keeper. My brother is my brother’s keeper. I am my keeper. I guess humans are just selfish evil creatures.

Joe, you’re 22 and I’ve seen a vette, gto, and TBSS in your sigs. What other cars have you owned while you were “working so hard to get by”? I rocked an 85 toyota tercel most of the time while I was college. It was stock, it was slow and rusty, but it was reliable and cheap as hell to run.

I still don’t understand why people do 4 years of college to work in the IT industry…

I haven’t owned any of those cars. I bought myself a '96 Firebird when I was 17. I kept it til I was 21, then sold it and leased the GTO with the proceeds. This left about $1000 at the end of the lease, which I put toward the first 3 payments on my TBSS, with the understanding I’d have my MBA after that. Vette is my dad’s, I just use it. And I didn’t work so hard. School comes naturally to me. I went out 4 nights a week, had a great time that I wouldn’t trade for almost anything, and made my income to live off of from consulting/contract work, and investing.

At the end of the day, I still come out equal to or most likely ahead of those that worked for it.

^ Sounds like a solid plan to get by without handouts. But maybe, just maybe it was the going out 4 days a week that affected your grades, not having to work.

If you can do it, why can’t everyone else?

Full academic scholarship. Total value…
$136,791.64.

If you can do it, why can’t everyone else?

Their SAT scores weren’t as high as mine?

BRB BALLIN’

Why not?

They were too busy working to have time to prepare? :stuck_out_tongue:

you’re right. I am clearly superior. All poor people and those of the sub 1450 SAT bow down to me, and bag my groceries, dammit.

Thats an excuse, not a reason. And you’re starting to sound republican now. :stuck_out_tongue:

Because you didn’t pay enough taxes, you greedy bastard!

HAHAHA YES! WINNAR

You know, you’ve been spending alot more time here in the last few weeks… slow season?

In before China rant! :biglol:

I wasn’t even trying to antagonize him… for swear.

lol.

Sometimes I get the political bug and I can’t resist.

Funny you should mention that, I have been talking to Chinese suppliers lately.:snky:
It has been a challenge to find quality parts so far.
