Jeep Build... final lift pics

no carpets? thats an easy clean

Did you paint the underbody to prevent rust from attacking the underside of the hurculiner floors?

no, the underside is completely clean, i sprayed rubberized undercoating when i cut the floor board out before, but its pretty good under there.

i think im going to look for a 97+ front head light bezel to add on for the cosmetics.

up next is to replace the exhaust, again(that flowmaster is TOO loud, and doesnt sound that good). then lift kits are going to be on list

nice

ok, as stated before in my goody thread, i got myself a lift finally… not the best on the market, but suffice for the moment until i REALLY get into the hobby…

it was 4 1/2" rough country kit with plans on 33" tires after.

well this is the before picture

after it was all complete to the front… we ran out of day light and it was getting cold as hell so this is how it looked after the first day

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d136/afhockey31/IMG_0604.jpg

day two only needed the rear leaf packs dropped, an add a leaf put in, shocks, and rear brake line relocation.

of course this was all way harder to do cause of the mud that ive driven through(and will probably never again do after all this)

today i went and picked up the tires to put on and had to do a little trimming on the rear quarters to get them to fit without rubbing.
these are 33" Mickey Thompson Baja Claws, they look great, drive great and a nice road hum

so with that… i give you the final after the lift. i still have to do trimming on all the fenders tomorrow, the fender flairs are coming off and im cutting a couple inches off of them for better clearance. but this is the before and after…

ill get some better ones tomorrow after i do the trimming and some touch ups to the bottoms of the doors…

up next is going to be a roof rack carrier, front mount winch on a new bumper and…

looks good man, are those just duplicates of the same picture? im trying to figure out if your trying to show us something?

Looks damn good, get rid of that rear sway bar no need for it. Do you have quick discos for the front?

looks good

you should do the jeep 2500 front end concersion for some cosmetics i wanted to do this

yeah those are just dups… i dont know why it posted twice, but theres nothing different

thanks man… i debated on it, but it doesnt hurt it by being on, i have to get an adjustable track bar, and i may spring for some quick discos… or i just may make them from some shit at the hardware store, theyre not that tough to make.

i would love to, but with what im going to be doing with this… i dont want to spend that much money on a cosmetic that wont have a purpose ya know? it looks great though

looks great keep up the good work

you don’t need a track bar for the rear since you have leaf springs… they’ll keep the axle centered without one. And more of the bigger kits for XJ’s tell you to pull the sway bar out. You won’t notice it’s gone on the road… but the extra flex off road is awesome!

I see what you’re saying but it’s the front I need the trac bar for. They don’t have trac bars in the rears. I’m on my way to cut fenders now and go test it out

Yea getting rid of or detaching the sways will be one of the thing that will give you the most noticeable difference off road. Night and day difference.

You have to change any other suspension pieces beside shocks/springs with that kit?

Track bar and control arms.

hmmm…now to figure out how much I want to lift my jeep…

With 4.5 most ppl need a sye, you can do a transfercase drop but thats just a bandaid for the vibes. I run a sye and a front driveshaft from a Grand Cherokee because its alittle longer but tons of ppl just run a xj front drive shaft.(this is just to save money from buying a custom drive shaft)

What size tires would you want to run LZ??

33s

4.5 with a little trimming will do 33s no problem. Alot of ppl like the low cog and do 3-3.5 with 33s. But that requires lots of trimming and bump stopping.

Im at like 6ish but i would like to drop it an inch and run 35s, mines a little taller than i would like but ive never been in a spot where i felt it was going over so who knows.

Sweet. What did that lift run you? i wanna lift my cherokee as well. wanted to go 3" or so with 33’s too.
