guy is nuts
devils hole with a jetski…c’mon…who’s in?
guy is nuts
all that is man…
i’ve been told a few guys do this every so often, in all my hikes in the gorge i’ve never seen it/heard of it
i think its dam insane personlly, you fall off and your not catching your jetski lol
awesome
so you float for about 10mins and recover when it opens into lake ontario.
lol… pretty wild… I dig the idea… i think its crazy though.
EDIT: itd be sweeter on a standup.
that’s ridiculous. there’s a 200’ underwater waterfall that will suck you down forrrreeeeevvvvverrrrr
thats if you dont get slammed against rocks over and over…along with your jetski…thing dont just float down the middle of the river…
that is some dangerous shit
a what?
i’ve never heard 200’ but the river drops abou 16’ in that one spot
when the jetboats go through that spot, they wind them out pretty good to get them over that hump
Is this even legal?
I dont think so.
i’ve heard different stories on this
on one hand i’ve heard that you are legally allowed to go up to the whirlpool, just most people will not
others have said that you cannot go much past the power plants
either way the coast guard is NOT allowed to go past the power plants, they will not come save you no matter what…better hope a jetboat sees you
Devils hole is a 200 foot deep whirlpool. With a jacket on or not it will keep you underwater long enough for you to die.
The guide on the jet boat told us that it was entirely possible for an object, or person for that matter, to be held under for weeks before surfacing.
ok how do people always get this confused…
devils hole and the whirlpool are 2 different things, devils hole is downriver from the whirlpool
but what you said about the whirlpool is correct…though the tour guides on the jetboat exaggerate a little bit, its under 200 ft, more like 150ish
and really, anywhere in the river there can pull you down, the water swells are crazy, random bubbles popping up all over the place
totally true, in the whirlpool
found a perfect pic…
devils hole is directly in the center of this pic, where you see the “v” of whitewater
whirlpool is obviously on the far right
I hear there are salmon up there in the fall. I’d like to check it out.
And I get puckery taking my boat acros Thompson’s hole…
