Fact:
-Buschur’s Mustang Dyne is probably the lowest reading calibrated Mustang in the US.
-AMS > Buschur, get off Buschur’s nuts. Buschur=bunch of hipocritical sons of bitches.
-Dyno is a tuning tool and rarely has a direct coorelation to what a car will actually run in the 1/4 mile.
-Horsepower is a make believe number, so who really cares?
-Art has a cool Evo.
Fiction:
-This thread has promise.
-Dyno debates are awesome.
-People on Shift are reasonable.
Go on the Evo forums and read the ridiculousness that Buschur gets themselves involved in. Also, Buschur always raves about their ‘made in the USA’ goodness when in reality they pedal as many outsourced products as anyone else. Their mini-battery kit is a ‘competitiors’ kit they slap a sticker on. And they have the audacity to claim they developed it in house? AMS is at least realistic about the parts/products they produce and sell. AMS and Buschur both receive a lot of ‘hype’ in the Evo world, but I don’t think either is ‘over’ hyped…as they’re constantly battling back and forth for fastest/quickest Evo VIII and IX…they need to play catch up w/ TTP Engineering on the Evo X as of right now though.
My only gripe with Buschur is how all his nutswingers talk about how proven they are at the track…well duh! They have 2 guys that drive everyones cars! The track is 95% driver. Anyone can make power, not many people can drive an evo good, when you use the same driver to get your customers a number of course it will be good.
I love how because 2 stripped down race evo’s ran mid 9’s on teh red, its a 9 second turbo. I’d love to proven wrong but i dont’ see a full weight, on street tires evo going faster than 10.50ish on one…
FWIW we ran a 11.0@131 making 465whp on a mustang dyno about 3 years ago…last summer 360whp ran a 11.6@121. 440whp with a good powerband and good driver will go 128-130 if the conditions are right.
I’m not saying anything bad about buschur, all im saying is this. Lets say a shop built an Evo for a customer, it made 650whp. Customer takes its to the track and runs high 10’s…thats how it works for most…Now look at the times buschurs cars run. On borrowed slicks and with buschur and driver at the track goes high 9, with the owner driving runs mid 10’s but they post up another 9 second car…
I’m sure if any most decent drivers made over 100 passes in an evo they could get almost any ones car to run faster the first couple times out then the actual owner could.Practice makes perfect
but…David can be a huge PRICK!!! so can his cocky big headed employees and nutswingers. this is where they fail. but…i have gotten every part from buschur directly and not only gotten them in a timely mannor but he has always given me disconts.
I dislike BR parts. Really rubbed me the wrong way with how they setup their FMIC. Want their FMIC, then you have to get their lower IC pipe cause they had to design the end tanks differently. Want their upper IC pipes, then you had to get their mini battery kit (this was back in the day when there weren’t other mini battery kits for the evo). Garbage. Probably a smart bussiness plan, but I didn’t want to feel forced to buy their products so I stayed far away.
MD(Mustang Dyno)'s are one of the more used dynos, at least in the domestic world. They seem to provide a more down to earth number, compared to other dyno’s, which the HP/dyno queens love so much lol. AND, they are plenty reliable
