ka-t downpipe question

im running a top mount manifold with a t3/t04b turbo.

am i going to need custom downpiping? cant seem to find anything that will really work well with this kind of set up.

It’s kind of tricky, the area is cramped and so clearances can be tight. I’m running the IAP upper downpipe (heat-wrapped), with the Megan Racing (IAP uses it) SR20DET lower downpipe with the flex section. Fitment was tight, but it all ended up perfect. If you’re going to buy a downpipe, don’t forget to make sure its bolt pattern matches up with your turbo.

All i’d say is that if you’re not going to use one specifically laid out for your setup, go custom for sure. Make sure there is some flex somewhere in the exhaust system/downpipe setup somewhere as well. Don’t forget about the O2 bung as well.

Good luck.

where can i get these peices and how much did they cost.
ill check out the megan site for the lower peice.

anywehre else i can grab this stuff?

Sugestion : Things I done was to purchase a U mendrel bend 3 inch pipe , took it to the muffler shop , we cut it in 2 90’s .
From turbo to 90 down and another 90 to go underneath the car where we welded it to the rest of the car .
Mine was a bottom mount so I did not require extra piping but you get the idea.
Muffler shop can be really cheap as long as they only have to weld and no bending require.

Total cost was under 120 $ including labour , then again I got connection.

Pre-made downpipes will obviously cost more. If that’s the route you choose, look at these:

IAP Upper-downpipe $135 US

Megan Racing lower downpipe “Stainless Downpipe SR20DET” (no pic) $209 US
