KFC announced that as of yesterday, “Canada is officially a Double Down free zone.”
Between its Canadian launch in Oct. 18 til its end, KFC says it sold more than one million Double Downs, making it the “most successful menu item” in KFC Canada history.
i never had one, didnt even know what it was but heard about it on the news or whatever.
looks gross.
it would take something pretty special to get me to walk into a KFC at all.
Not really fast. It was supposed to be a special gimmick item just to draw attention. They announced it on April Fools and it was release 4/12 with the plan to kill it 5/23. Then it turned out to be so popular they decided to keep it around as long as they have.
Seems like a cultural mismatch for Canada. They seem to be a bit more progressive on not allowing as nasty of shit to be called food as we do in America. Doesn’t McDonalds up there not use trans-fats or something like that?
The Double Down’s 540 calories contain 145 milligrams of cholesterol (more than twice that of the Big Mac and about half of the USDA’s daily allowance) – along with 1,380 milligrams of sodium (the USDA recommends no more than 2,400 per day) and 32 grams of fat (65 will keep you slim, says the government). So, for getting only about one-quarter of the calories that you need in a day, you’re exhausting about half your budget of “bad stuff”.
