Kids playground muilch materials

my 2 year old is starting to get alot more active, we have a big wooden playset (swings, monkey bars, slide, etc) in the backyard. It currently sits just on grass but i would like to change that to the playground mulch.

Im not sure what are my options in terms of types of mulch or who can deliver a few yards of it.

does anyone have any experience with this??

thanks

I’d probably go with the rubber stuff like this:

+1 on rubber mulch, I have 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 year old sons and it’s the best (but certainly not cheapest) option. There are a few places that sell it locally, usually comes in 2000lb superpacks for ~7-800 if i remember. We have well over 5000lbs. covering that 32’ x 16’ area. I’m extending the front out with an A-frame for swings so I’ll be in the market for more.

I have some of the places written down at home, we ended up getting a majority of ours through someone on craigslist that bought way too much new.

They say 6" of the recycled rubber is rated at a 12-14 ft drop, I went with ~4" and can jump off the top of the ship and land comfortably.
