ORAOPOLIS, Pa. — Pro wrestler Kurt Angle was charged with drunken driving and careless driving when he drove home from a bar near his home in the Pittsburgh suburbs last week, police said.

Angle was charged Friday after a motorist called police in Moon Township about 2 p.m. to report a Cadillac Escalade was driving erratically, according to a police news release.

Police used the license number to determine the vehicle belonged to Angle and went to his home, where police said the wrestler acknowledged driving home from a bar.

Angle appeared to be intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test before refusing a blood test, police said.

Angle, 38, won a gold medal in the 1996 Summer Olympics before becoming a local television sportscaster and then a pro wrestler.

It was not immediately clear if Angle had an attorney. His home telephone number was unlisted.

I am against drunk driving.

However, if he was home already, and they came solely because of a phone call, I think their methods are illegal, and he will get off scott free.

I flew back from LaGuardia on the same flight as him a couple of months ago and he looked a little off his rocker then, but I just chalked it up to being a f’d up wrestler. But even my g/f commented that he looked drunk.

but its heresay! thats like seeing someone you dont like at a bar having 1 drink, then they drive home and drink a case there and you call the police on them.

Pretty much. He purportedly said “I drove home from the bar” or something to that effect…giving the cops probable cause? IDK if he’s going to get off scott-free. Maybe community service in that case? Either way, since he’s a local hero he’s going to get special treatment, as we all know that’s the way the system works…

Kurt Angle was a cool dude when I met him a while back. When I worked at GNC he stopped in because he was recently, at the time, appointed a GNC Spokesperson so he wanted to check things out or something.

anyway, to make a long story short he bought us all some lunch from subway and stuck around to chat for a while about the steelers and sports supplements.

sorry for the off topic comments but we are talking about the guy’s character so i guess its not that off topic.
