Laptop

I need a basic laptop…my asus died for the 2nd time and I am tired of fixing it.

I am looking for a fairly good machine but my basic uses would be surf the internet, check email and MOST importantly I would like it to have Microsoft Office installed on it. I would prefer to sit in my house and do work instead of in my basement office detached from sunlight.

Let me know what you have otherwise I am going to best buy in the next day or so because I am incredibly impatient.

not sure what your looking to spend, but my GF bought herself a Google Chromebook for work. She using it for ordering and doing her scheduling, uses a program like Office that is compatible with there files. It was only $199 at bestbuy.

This sounds appealing

But I need it to work with word, excel, and ppt

Pretty sure Google Docs does it all.

It does, unless you’re getting super complex with it.

Can I have the old laptop?

For free?

For frizzle! What’s wrong with it? Maybe I can fix it for ya

Blue screen of death if I remember but operates in safe mode

These are still $635 new on Amazon. I have had this for a lil bit, only used it maybe 10 times because I have another computer I use mostly (desktop). Was asking $550, I’d take $500 just to let someone else get use out of it. As for full Office, your best bet may be to buy a “student” copy from Amazon…or torrent if you’re good with that sort of thing. Or on the cheaper/free side you can always run Open Office.

Looks cool, but my horrible luck with Asus makes me leery…

Weird, I have many friends that swear by Asus. I can tell you based on # of issues I’ve seen many of the new Dell are problematic and I don’t think I’ll ever buy another HP again.

Had a new hard drive under warranty, new battery under warranty, new hard drive after warranty and the boom again

That’s not good, sounds like they should give you a new laptop for all the hassle. I’ve had a few DOA $2-3k Macbook Pro’s I’ve dealt with…talk about angry customers!

Yeah. Quality geek squad jobs…lol

^thats your problem…they barely look at it…“yep bad harddrive”

Asus is like the Lamborghini of computer parts this is shocking to me tho

Geeks quad is your problem they are not certified and are talking out Their asses…

Then someone who wants to fix it send me a PM

Geek squad probably has a few good techs but generally speaking I think we’ve identified your problem. You clearly had one of their good techs and simply need a new laptop…mine.

Haha. 500 would really be top of the mark, especially if I have to buy office for it
