Leins and $$$ questions

so the question is …How do you like your new FAST ride…?

i bought a car once with a lein on the title and the guy i bought it form didnt have the lein release…all the DMV did was keep the lein on the title when they issued it me after i registered it

This isn’t shady at all, this is what happens 75% of the time with private party sales.

Guy A has a car with a loan on it. Guy A’s bank holds the title because they are the lein holder. Bank will not give back title until he pays off loan.

Guy A wants to sell car, guy A needs cash from sale to pay off the loan before he can get the title.

There is no reason for this alone to make you think that the deal is shady for any reason. The bank obviously isn’t going to give him the title until he gives them the money. If you aren’t willing to go pick it up and go to his bank to make the transaction then it’s a risk you’ll have to assume.

You don’t need anything other than a clean/clear title that has been released by both the lein holder and the owner, and the car (for any ness. inspection) to register it. Many states do not even require a bill of sale, although it’s good to have.

he will let u use his plates. iam sorry it doesnt seem write to me. make sure u get as much in writing as you can

well… did you get the title yet? You’ve had it for a couple days…

why not? I’ve done it twice
