Linux desktop guys

Ok was on my last whim for Windows 7. Worked great for a few weeks but just having tons of issues and finally got rid it.

I am running x64 Ubuntu 9.04 and have it setup pretty good with seamless virtualbox integration of Windows 7 for a few specific apps that can not run on Linux at all (iTunes mostly).

I am moving back towards open source linux software. What apps do you guys have for your desktops that are handy or tweaks you guys have?

UbuntuTweak was pretty cool to fine tune my startup and desktop settings.

I haven’t run linux as a sole desktop OS in a while, but we’re about to throw ubuntu or centos on an extra x64 pc we have lying around.

firefox
thunderbird
songbird
Gnome-RDP
Komodo IDE 5
Sun VirtualBox
Gnome Do
KeePassX

Thank you. Any suggestions on a remote monitor to tail remote logs?

??

ssh <hostname> tail -f /path/to/file.log

?

ya just would like a widget for that that just watches it
