My self and a few peers own and operate a few servers across the US. Business isn’t extremely profitable since we are not open fully to public customers and only manage servers through business contacts.
We are looking to bring some servers locally. Does anyone know any tel co data centers around here that rent out rack space? To start locally, we just need to get about 1/4 to 1/2 cabinet space. We will only be mounting out network gear and some rack mount servers for the time being but would like the option to expand to a full rack in the future.
Local management for some servers. A client we are working on bringing on board has sensitive information and only certain contractors will get permission to login to servers and manage the hardware. Many people in the company don’t even know about the applications these servers are running. For us to hire someone in the area of the data centers that we currently operate out of would require them to come into the area and go through checks and tests by the company.
The servers are not critical on high bandwidth or multi peer networks. We have even debated running a multiple T1’s and building our own smaller datacenter but we are trying to get prices on 1/2 racks and such in the area first.
