Loctite Freeze & Release

anybody know where it’s sold around albany? this stuff is amazing, it shock freezes down to like, -40F and breaks apart rusted nuts and bolts. my brother calls it “freeze yer nuts off.” anyways, i need some of this because my alternator bolt is seized and i need to tighten the belt and conventional lubricants havn’t helped.

check with napa or advanced

nevermind, i found some. had to look up some loctite distributes and then call several of them before i found some. Advanced Industrial Technologies has some. places like NAPA, advanced, autozone, pepboys, walmart, lowes, homedepot etc don’t have this.

more details on this stuff?

yeah my dad mentioned this shit and i was like WTF your smoking something

more info?

Works fairly well on smaller fasteners(~13mm and under). It’s the damn ticket for 6x1.00mm pitch brackets bolts you find all over a typical car engine bay(the little 10mm head ones). I keep a couple cans of it here.

However for larger stuff like suspension/chassis hardware, it still can’t shine a candle when compared to good old fashion heat(MAPP or Acetylene) but works pretty well for more everything else…

It can give you frostbite if used improperly so yea it’s cold

weeerd

basically it’s a lubricant that freezes whatever you’re spraying down to -43F (supposedly) after like, 5-10 seconds. this shocks the metal (the same way heat does) and breaks apart the corrosion. then the lubricant wicks right in. stuff is awesome for everything i’ve used it on (never tried it on the big stuff though). but yeah, if you spray it on yourself for any amount of time, you’ll probably cause soft tissue damage.

have 2 cans of it in my garage :banana
