long shot. model train stuff.

Chance of selling his shit here is slim/none… but i might as well try.

6 boxes of high grade model trains and track. Scale H, H/O and O.
NOT cheap. It’s almost entirely Lionel. My grandpa gave it to me a couple years ago. I’ll never set it up or have the room to set it up. Don’t need it taking up a shitload of space in the garage. I need money for a car that’ll be driveable this damned year.

Camera’s dead. I’ll have pics up in the morning.

It’s worth around $1K. I’ll take $700 or best.

PM me here if you want it. I’m sure no one will, but i might as well try.

Try taking it to Mohawk Valley Railroad on Hamburg street in Schenectady. They buy and sell model trains.

probably not but seriously try the place I told you. I used to go there all the time when I was into model kits and my brother was into trains.

i’ll try there PJB. thanks for the tip.

PM me your phone number. I’ll forward it on to a friend of mine who is a COMPLETE MANIAC for model trains.

Under no circumstances should you do this the owner is a crook and will try and screw you. Lionel is very collectable depending on what you have. My father and his friends are into the hobby, if you are willing to take the time to make a list of what you have to sell then I’ll pass it along for you.

Best bet is ebay. This thread is such a long shot on here though, you have got to be kidding me :lol

It really depends on what he has, keep in mind Lionel has been in production basically since WW1, some stuff is worth thousands other stuff next to nothing and there are niche markets for everything inbetween. His best bet would be a MR specific forum, ebay takes a huge cut these days and you have to use paypal.

i dont even give a shit about ebay’s cut, i just want it out of here and have some $ in my pocket. none of this stuff is that old anyways. it’s all early 90’s at absolute oldest.

trying to help you out here, my Dad has been in the hobby for about 40 yrs and knows most of the people in the area that are either collectors or operators. If you don’t want to take the time to make a list then best of luck or take it to a hobby shop and get 30 to 50 cents on the dollar for what it’s worth cause they are reselling it.

i think im going to just painfully and slowly list errthing on fleabay.

do a google search on lionel train pricing, bet that will yield something. I already made a very nice offer to try and help you out, but your too lazy to even come up with a list of what you have.

Its under new ownership. The original owner died and somebody else took it over and reopened it.

They were always good to deal with when my brother was into trains.

We’ve got my father’s train set from 1958 in the basement in boxes and at one point my brother was working on setting it up but lost interest after spending a ton of money on stuff for it.

no im grateful, really, but i havent had time to go make a list yet. i’ve got 6 boxes at least 1ft x 1ft packed with stuff. i’ll get on it as soon as i can.

If the shit is from the 90,s its not worth really anything seeing as lionel isn’t the same company it was 50 yrs ago . They don’t use the metal and or detail they used to and use a lot of Chinese shit in em . I know this as my dad was a huge train fanatic.

Thread cleaned.

Keep FS section clean. Plenty of other threads going on with the :skid

YESSIR! :skid

GLWS buddy!

It really depends on what he has. Like you said some of the stuff is worth 10-50 bucks a unit and other stuff can be worth more. However without a list of what he has and some pictures to determine condition it’s a pig and a poke.
