I totaled my 2000 Outback with 112k in June, bought it back for $550, tack on deductible, ended up pocketing $3250 roughly. Needed a new windshield, fender, headlight, mirror. Fixed it for about $500. One day when I sell it I’ll still get a decent buck for what it’s worth. You’re in the exact same situation.
Just admit it, you just want something fancier and this is the perfect excuse to get something like that.
Don’t care for fancy, just care for a car that’s more enjoyable to drive. I don’t know, I thought I’d enjoy/like this one… I’m not.
Like LZ stated… How often do we really use the AWD here. Yes it comes in handy at times… but a civic/accord wouldn’t be bad. Hell, I’d consider getting back into a Mazda 6. I’m not an SUV person at all and this thing feels like I’m driving one.
Call around. Skyway Auto Parts always has a decent selection, even M&M has a few laying around at any given time. M&M even has an updated inventory on their website - showing 2x '02s and 1x '98 right now.
