Looking for a clean, rust free, mid-late 90s gmc/chevy k2500 (4x4) extended cab, short bed
If anyone sees one for sale, preferably local (i know that’s impossible because i said rust free) let me know. i always liked the look of these lifted
Lol, everybody says they are junk. I think theyre great, theyre not a powerhouse but it will get the job done. If you look at one make sure theres no blowby and that it does not smoke under acceleration. (cold start smoke is normal). Common issues are PMD injection pump driver module that always goes bad but you can buy them off ebay for $50-100.
I hear what your saying Paul, but that’s a lot of labor for someone to cut them out, weld them in, and paint. That’s probably 1500 for both sides said and done. More importantly, if the rust is that bad on the rockers the rest of the truck is going to be in poor shape as well
I have family in SC and have been looking at trucks online in their area. So nice seeing 90s chevy’s with no rust. Amazing how many have 220K+ miles on them though…
i’d like to find one under 150kmi, don’t mind buying one from the south and having it shipped up or flying/driving down to bring it back. if i’m going to ship it i’d prefer buying it form a dealer though. i’ve shipped cars before, but they’ve always been s2k wrecks and i didn’t care about what was wrong without seeing them first. i want this truck to be clean, if i can’t find one i’ll likely buy a newer truck. there is a nice 06 lifted f150 fx4 someone posted on want ad today, very tempting
I’ve got 121k on my '06 and its been a good truck for the 73k I’ve driven it. '06 is good but '04 and '05 have some issues that can get expensive to fix like cam phasers and injectors.
