A friend has one and when I rode in it,it exceeded my expectations. He hasn’t had any problems, they make a good DD and they’re a little less bland than other offerings. Not to mention the ones I see selling on eBay in the 10k mark have low miles.
i’m just going to argue this point a little… Your drive train setup ONLY changes the rate of acceleration in snow. NOTHING else.
My VW GTI with meaty ass snow tires handled JUST AS GOOD as my wrx in the snow with the same snow tires. Sure, the awd is nice when you are going up hills, ect.
I’ve drove plenty of RWD cars in the snow, as long as they have winter tires, they are just as good as any other platform. (unless you are WOT everywhere)
I honestly think i’m going to go with a Jetta… Low interest rates(i’m financing it) warranty, i’m buying it from my grandpa, ect…
I’d really prefer a e46 325i…but, meh, don’t feel like being nickel and dimed to death with 2 cars.
I drive my lady’s mk5 jetta around a lot. it’s a loaded autotragic 2.0t. It’s got quite a lot of pep, and is a really enjoyable/comfortable ride. If you’re getting a decent deal, i would recommend it for a nice dd
