Looking for Crew members

Since theres no road race forum, I’ll post this here
We are actively looking for crew members this year.
We plan on only doing a couple of events this year, unless we get a major sponsor
But we expect to do some testing, car development and training. We’d like to find some dedicated crew that will work with us through this year and hopefuly into next when we plan to run a full schedule.
You don’t have to be a mechanic, we need to fill a few positions. We are looking for men or women who are willing to give up some of their free time to help us out. You have to be willing to learn and motivated to help us win as a team.
The job would include working on the car at the shop (located in Newmarket) and at the track on race weekends (Mosport, Shannonville, Toronto Grand Prix (downtown)). Duties would be helping with set up and tear down of or paddock space (tent, BBQ, etc.) loading/unloading the car, set up, fueling, driver assistance, working at pit wall during races. (which may include helping with driver swaps in enduro’s, tire changes, fueling, etc)
As we are a small underfunded team, we unfortunately are not offering paid positions, it would be strictly volunteer. However we do feed you well, and look after as many costs as we can (hotels if out of town) We are a fun team to work with and you get to hang out at the track, could it get any better? Free entry to events like the Toronto Grand prix and regional weekends is a plus.
I’d prefer to recruit from the Nissan community since we are Nissan enthusiasts ourselves.
PM me or email me at pat@patharrison.ca if you are interested.
Thanks

Woot im up for it. I would have to know when you’ll need me though because i might be busy but im up for it… :R

i would be interested

It would be weekend work.
The schedule for this year is here:
http://www.touringcar.ca/Schedule.htm
Likely we’ll only run the Grand Prix and maybe one or two other dates, but the test days are May 11, June 29, aug 10, aug 31, sept 14, sept 28.
The rest of the schedule would be working on the car and practice at the shop. Ie, driver changes and pit stops…this is still to be determined.
Interested parties car PM me with email contacts so that once we get a firm schedule together, or at least a working plan  we can get everyone together.

pm’ed

Pat, weren’t you racing with Vic Simone, if my memory serves me correctly?

Yes, thats right. We’re looking forward to getting more work done on developing the car.

this sounds like a great oppertunity for some people.
good luck and have fun guys.

Thanks for all the responses, I’ll likely pick a date soon. (on a Sat.) to meet at the shop, see whos intrerested, let everyone see the car and make some plans.
Pat

sounds great!

I mentioned in the PM’s, there are at least a couple of crew positions I’d like to have go to someone that can dedicate a fair bit of time, mostly because it will involve pit stops. Driver changes need to happen fast and with the helmet and Hans device it helps to have some assistance with getting in and belting up. (and getting Vics booster seat in  ) as well as fueling and anything that needs to be done quickly, so persons trained to do pits stops would be nice.

like i said im a good with this. just let us know when you plan to set a day for a meet.

Time change for meet, we are now meeting at 2:00pm on Sat.
Same place

For those that were out today.
Thanks for coming out, hope you liked what you saw. We’re looking forward to a great year. I’ve posted below some of the rules and regulations for CASC-OR and the series. They’re not required reading but you might want to familiarize yourself with some of the rules, especially dealing with paddocks and pits. There will not be a test

After this coming weekend we should have a good idea of our schedule. There is a CTCC meeting on Sat. That Jeff (crew chief) and I are attending, afterwards at the Performance World Car show there wil be a major announcement regarding the series. Should be media there. If this draws the sponsors we are after, what with potential media coverage and racing at the Grand Prix of Toronto right before Champ car on Sunday, I can’t see how they’d pass on the opportunity, then we’ll likely be racing this season and going after trophies and glory

pat you’re a bum… so is vic… it’s jay man what’s goin on?
