Keep in mind I’m coming from a 3.4L camaro. that was pretty slow in itself. I’m looking at an 88’ rx7 convertible yes its a rotary. yes it is slow. but its different, rebuilt engine has 21,xxx on it(receipts) needs a top and tires right now. 101,xxx on all other parts. So here is a picture, and let me know what you think. A swap would be next year I think I can pick it up in the $1100 - $1500 range. It did drive nice when I took it out though. So anyways, a simple yes no or whatever else you would like to say and here is a pic:
verts are always sweet swap projects, but rx’s are a little flimsier than others… i’d plan on a 6 point when you did the swap. 8-900 would be the most i’d pay.
Like I said, I was thinking about a smallblock swap but that wouldn’t be until next year, so it would be rotors away for at least this summer, not really looking for a ton of speed after my accident though, so I’ll have to see how all this pans out. The other thing I was wondering is if anyone had a legitimate horror story with a rotary, not a friend of a friend one. because I’ve read alot of bad things from people who do not own them, but at the same time some pretty good stories from owners.
Dude, I was walking past a RX7 one day with Shaggy’s mom and the negative air pressure from her vagina caused all the apex seals in it to blow out. Shit is no joke son.
No to mention hacking at the firewall. The only good RX7 is a piston powered one. I have the mount and driveshaft for the SBC for one I would let go for $50.
I ended up picking it up for 1050 out the door, drove it home and all seems well so far, except a potential wasps nest…other than that so far I really like the car, i mean, till something breaks I can take it up to 8k no problemo If I end up doing a swap I would most likely try to keep it japanese I’m not a fan of mixing. lol. For now though, I’m going to drive it till something breaks. Thanks for all of the input too!
Thanks for the comments guys. And I do understand that this forum is your guys’s little world and not mine. And while you most likely don’t care this is my last post I really only actually met one person on this forum and he was very cool and helpful. Thanks for your input once again.
