low profile hydrolic jack

Where can I get one locally? A good one at least 2 ton, alum preferably (lightweight) and less than 3 1/2 inches in profile…lowering the Z in the spring… My floor jack just bit the dust last weekend. :frowning: Guess it had been thrown around too much the last 10 years… I’d like to spend less than $300. Or does anyone recommend a brand/mfg? Thanks

You are not going to find one that low for under 300…

are you sure it has to be 3.5 inches?

I think absolute lowest is 3 3/4 inches for it to be able to fit…4 inch won’t cut it after it’s lowered…

There have been a couple of threads on RacePA about this since half the board swaps to race tires on the weekend. As I recall the Harbor Freight jacks people seemed split down the middle. Some lasted, some didn’t. The Sears jacks seemed to have a better track record, most likely the one i’m going with. I’m sure there are other companies that make them I just can’t think of any off the top of my head.

Thanks Habib, but I don’t see a low profile craftsman on sears website

kiss your front fender goodbye. pa roads own fenders

min. saddle height 3.5"
$289.90

heehee that’s alright, reason to get the bumper cover repainted, w/ all the friggin rock chips in it… :ugh:

Most major places that sell their tools usually have them in stock, incase you wanna go check one out. I think i’ve seen ad’s for them in the sunday paper also.

Smorts link is going to be your best bet for price. everything else I have found is 500+

Craftsman’s lowest one is 3 3/4 and its $475

snap-on blue point 289,works great,i have one used very little for $250!!

option if you can’t find a low enough floor jack. I always use 2x10 and drive over them first and then use regular floor jack.

i got a badass lowered floorjack at costco like 2 years ago. it would fit with room to spare under my jetta when it was slammed and it was only like 200 dollars. Not sure if they still have them or not, but it might be worth while to check if you have a membership

i’m skeptical that you’re z is really going to require under 4 inches… but i’m not one to argue

i agree mort’s link is money. or brians snap on used!!! snap on > *

great price!!!

i have a snap on alum. race jack, and i love it!

Holy shit thats a lot for a sears jack lol. I snooped around sears site and found the two I was thinking about. One is 1 1/2 ton so thats probaly not what your lookin for.

both are 3 3/4 high from what I can tell.

You think you have a tough time with jacks? :frowning:

I have my regiment down pat though to get mine on jackstands. Lift the rear to max, drop the front to 60 psi. raise rear to fit small jackstands under axle. deflate rear, inflate front. Jack up the front until I can put the jackstands under the frame. Inflate rear to 40 psi and strap axle to the frame. Lift the frame until I can fit 2 more jackstands under the rear portion of it. Repeat front and rear until jackstands are sufficiently extended. Take the 2 biggest jackstands and put them under the axle and deflate.

I do this on a broken jack that takes 3 slow pumps to equal 1 regular pump  I’ll make one from an old airbag some day.

Setting it down sucks just as much.

i found that one on an NSX forum.
NSX’s are pretty low, so it should work for you. they said that its the same jack that snap on ( bluepoint ) rebadges and sells. so im guessing its the same thing pewter is talking about. you should buy his. it will save you a few bucks

Thanks guys! hoping someone will saddle up and get one for me for xmas!
