Having owned something GM with this drivetrain and now something refined by ze Germans but with less power makes me love this car that much more.
That diagram is amazing
i know. i did not draw it though!
someone buy it, i will put up the ad probably next week
now officially for sale:

i really like that shift knob you have in this…
who makes it?
buy the car and you can have it!
I found it on ebay. Ironically the Camaros take a metric thread and the older Corvettes are SAE thread. Not sure about C6 and newer

I apologize to all for taking so long to get engine bay pictures, but I wanted to give it a good cleaning first. Here we go:

Power is estimated at 380whp/380 ft lbs.
It can easily be bumped up 50+whp with some better heads and less restrictive exhaust.
price drop, now 17,000
Local dyno day yesterday, had some nice results
388whp/377tq
I am getting the itch to swap heads or boost it…

put a small 150 shot on it with a progressive controller, or do some LSA heads and a LSA blower…
potential buyer fell through. up to top
16,000 OBO
So the LS7 clutch and flywheel combo is in and working out well. The old Diamond Stage 2 Clutch and 18lb flywheel worked great for me but always took a bit of effort to drive very smoothly. While I was under there I also added a copper washer under the detent ball plug (AKA Anti-Venom mod) to reduce shifting effort a touch. The combination of the above has worked well to make driveability much smoother. My only gripe is that the LS7 clutch engages right off the floor but I am told that it will self adjust as I put on the miles - only have about 45 miles on it so far.
Side note - I really have to stop taking pictures with a potato
The new lift made it SO much easier to get that big trans out. I am able to comfortable roll around underneath on a stool.

LS7 clutch in all its boring OEM glory - you can have your cake and eat it too

I did the LS7 clutch upgrade on my GTO when the slave cyl failed and coated my clutch and PP in fluid. At the time I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with the car so I figured while I was in there why not upgrade it a little. Drove just like stock.
funny you mention that detent mod. ever since I went with a short shifter it has that notch I don’t like and just found about this antivenom mod the other day
do you remember the size you used? many of the people I have read that did this used two washers. but its more about the thickness space than the number of washers.
I think this is an awesome car/build.
The LS7 clutch is what i should of put in my Trans Am WS6. With my gto thats the clutch i would go with as well most likely when the time comes.

I havent read much about the anti venom mod, but ive read it makes it easier for the tranny to fall out of gear? I could be wrong.
It’s engaging pretty close to the floor right now but I need to bleed it some more. It’s a nice piece.
The Corvette guys swear by it. My MGW shifter has awesome precision but it was fairly high effort which felt out of place in a luxury car.

No problems here so far
MGW shifter is awesome
LS7 clutch ftw mine is still holding 700+rwhp
the detent is much more noticeable when changing from a stock shifter/lever to anything aftermarket.
physics, levers… the short shifters notice the detent ‘notches’ more since it takes more hand power to pull it out of gear with a short shifter. the detent is spring loaded per the physics of the stock shifter.
im having a hard time explaining it right…
but taking a little tension off the detent notch, or spacing out that detent bolt will have less effect on a short shifter, or a lighter shift assembly but it could potentially have falling out of gear stuff if you have all the stock shifter crap.
im running a billet pro, with a LSS. my monster IV was slipping in high gears so I went with a mantic 9000 twin. huge improvement over the monster.
Took a deposit on the car last night, sale pending. If it falls through (doubtful) I will let everyone know.
