yes, and no. You generally do not want a “bot” to join your site, and they usually put pornographic or other types of SPAM in their profiles just to get you to click on it. They don’t use the “form” persay, but use a URL string. In XMB this string would be something along the lines of member.php?action=reg&username=spambot&password=spam&site=http://insertpornsitehere. However I’m sure VBulletin has some type of measure to prevent that, while XMB does not (or did not, they may in their new version).

vbulletin uses image verification as part of registration to make sure bots don’t join the board… and for another measure I use e-mail confirmation
