peaks are an old wives’ tale…
the patriots “peaked” for a few years straight.
the idea of being “due”… for a win, a loss, hitting the lottery, whatever… is a fallacy.

we had no running game, so we passed. unfortunately, we also had no passing game.
i know, but dont u guys find it disturbing that we couldnt run the ball? i mean, i know Jax has a good run defense and they were prob making it the number 1 priority to shut down the running game, but we r supposeed to have this amazing o-line and some good backs and they didnt really do much at all. i guess if they were crowding the box and then we connected some passes, then it wouldve kept them honest, but since we couldnt , they had no reason to repect our passign game and just focused on clogging the run game.
I have to say I feel Cowher lost the game for us, again. In order to be a good coach you need to adapt and make changes, cowher does not do this. God damn I think he is a horrible coach.
Its easy to sit here and come up with theories but as complex as Pro football is, its almost impossible for us as amatures to sit here and assess what really went down. We can only judge on what we saw. The fumble is one thing you can judge on but the picks are not. we don’t know what play was called, if the reciever did the right thing, if the coach called the best play, if the line ran the proper blockin scheme. Football is a team sport and if someone doesn’t do the job things like interceptions happen. The loss goes under the steelers record not in the tommy maddox or bill cowher column. can’t change it, move on to next week.
i agree for the most part, but at the same time, when u see your reciever surronded by defenders, dont throw the ball. i agree there r alot of variables that make a play go bad, but if a guy isnt open, hes not open. this isnt true on timing routes, such as the one to morgan perhaps. but regardless maddox made bad decisions and threw the ball into coverages he shouldnt have. not just on the int’s but on many incompletions.
don’t forget, their is always another pro team on the otherside of the ball making plays too. some mistakes are just exceptional plays by the other team. dan marino and john elway made carrers of throwing to guys that weren’t open. They lived by the sword and died by it. not comparing tommy to them but throwing to guys that seemed covered has its good and bad that goes with it. Montana ran a whole other offense that showcased pricision and timming which is something a bill cowher coached team could never pull off. Looks at who cowher coached under, marty shotennhiemer. the guy never won anything and lost many AFC championship games. Decendent of a loser coach, great guy but can’t win the big one. Now look at who has done good in the league. Bill walsh decendants and bill parcells decendants.
I don’t know where i was going with this
you are thinking what I am thinking. cowher was taught by a loser and will be a loser until he retires. The steelers have the talent to win it, but they need a coach to get them there.
cowher was part of three teams that lost in the AFC Championship prior to comming to pittsburgh, the 86, 87 and 89 cleveland browns. While here he was coach in 94,97,01 and 04. Thats 7 teams where he was a coach that lost the AFC championship. 4 of his own, 3 coached by marty. its not like any of them were superior teams. we wern’t playing no 85 bears or 89 49’ers. True, the broncos and both patriot teams went on to win the SB but they weren’t the better team.
