What is all involved with swapping MAF’s, can you take one from any nissan car and pop it on instead of the stock one and it will work? Do you need to get your ecu tuned afterwards, and do you need the ecu from the car you got your MAF from?
You’re ecu will need to be tuned. You’ll need to change wiring too.
If its the same model MAF you should be ok, but if your’e putting one from another model car then you’ll need to tune your ecu, and also the wiring will be different. So if you do decide to go that route, make sure the MAF comes with a harness.
Why are you changing your maf?
If you find yourself a bigger maf your could tecnically get away with not tuning your ecu if you increased the size of your injectors by the same %. It will run but you would probably still want a tune since the ecu will be using the “wrong” values in the map.
^^^ True. Technically you can run a z32 MAF and 720cc injectors on a stock sr20det ecu because the z32 MAF puts out twice the voltage numbers, and the injectors are twice the size. Just a fun fact.
you can do that but with bigger injectors you still need to turn down the duty cycle at idle. Basicly it will run but be really rich at idle and leaner at top
