Is this possible? Lets say you took all the guts out of your ka MAF, and made your own tube the same size as a 300zx, maybe bigger, and had a tuner hooked up to it. Would that work? Your going to be intercepting the signal anyways and replacing it with your own from your tuner… any thoughts?
Ok so it will work with 300zx internals, so it is possible with ka internals, but if you made your own with ka internals, with a tuner, do you think you could run it with a turbo set up?
not sure wat u saying dude.
instead of making ur own maf sensor you have a few not-so-insane options:
A. Brand new z32 maf (N62) from dealer (at least 350$)
B. Used +10 years old Z32 maf sensor (N62) (around 100 to 170$) and just hope its ok and u r not going to damaged anything.
C. Ford sensor calibrated to be 99% like a Z32 maf except its brand new, will work like a charm and not leak in blow-tru set up and only cost 170$.

What about a MAF from a 3.5 v6 nissan pathfinder? I’ve searched and it says there good to 325whp? I cant find a “how to” install on a 240sx though…
If you get nistune (likely why you want a to stay airflow vs pressure), you can look in the charts and realize many nissan units are rated over 400hp and readily available from the junkyard
Yeah thats what I was thinking. I was roaming around the junk yard and came across a Nissan Pathfinder with a 3.5 v6. I found a schematic on the wiring for it and think I would be able to make it work with an s13, has anyone used one of these? Its going to have to support around 350hp
All the vq35 engine ones will support at least that, but the vq30 unit is the same as rb25s2 (E60?), so that one is closer to 300hp
The plugs are also common among the newer ones, they’ve all gone 3-wire anyway, power-in, voltage out, ground
