The company I work for uses the technology that Badylak started when he was at Purdue. We’ve been in lawsuits with him over the years and he is now restricted to using bladder wall while my company uses intestine sub-mucosa, which is what his original research used.
Our product provides scaffolding for any type of soft tissue to regrow in to. From Dura replacement around the brain to burn wounds, it works pretty much anywhere.
Some of the things research is showing with it are off the hook. We’re talking regrowing infarcted heart muscle and forming a completely new bile duct where none was previously.
Down the road include we’re looking at injectable versions impregnated with all kinds of good drugs.
