^yea… looks like quality work for sure.
Sick thread for sure… that one corvette with the crazy background is straight crazy
If you are paying a shop to do it, yes 100% it will cost you $2k-5k.
then just get a proper paint job…
I guess there is a lot of money to be made in that business.
X…
Man how many hours of wet sanding and layers of flat black does it take to get this effect?
a friend of mine matte black painted his trunk. he wet sanded it twice, then a few coats. it’s slightly darker than the pictures here of the vinyled car.
When wrapping a car, how do you go about dealing with paint chips? Does stretched vinyl ‘cover’ these, or sink into them?
mine has sank into the small chips that were on my trunk. I have a deep scratch on the fender, I’m waiting to see how it’ll look vinyled over.
I put black vinyl on the roof and hood of the 05 STi earlier the same day Hallock did his. Thanks to a friend, it turned out pretty good. It was a huge pain to get it looking decent. Any shop that does this for pay deserves every penny!
is it a similar process as the 3M clear bro’s? because i always thought those were stupid expensive too but then i saw it being done and sorta got it.
It’s similar, but the clear bra is WAY easier. The material is thicker which helps the bra lay out, and it’s typically pre-cut. Being clear the bra hides mistakes.
So.
Awesome.
hey its my car in forza! lol
so sick
