MAX 6x6 6 wheeler - $2500

I’m selling a MAX 6 wheeler. I just finished rebuilding this thing from top to bottom (stripped and painted the frame), but I cheaped out and re-used the chains I got with it. I don’t want to spend the money or the time to replace them, but my loss is your gain. I can get you the chains and even someone to do them if you’d like. I have several pics of the build, from tearing it down to building it up.
The motor is just broken in, I’ve only had it out on one trip, and a couple casual rides. Maybe 20 hours on the motor. 18HP Vanguard V-Twin. Tons of power, tons of torque.

Things I’ve put on it in the last 2 years -
New winch w/ remote
New windshield
New rollbar
Top and sides (camo)
New wire harnass
Newer upper body
New seat
New seatbelts
New gas tank/lines
New body seal (I have extra body seal.)
New tubes for the tires (one is still in the packaging)

I’m sure there is much more. Feel free to come out and check it out. I’m not going to let anyone drive it until the chains are replaced unless I have money in my hand. It just isn’t worth it. I’ve put over $2000 into this thing in the last couple years. I’m a member of a 6x6 club and I had one growing up… but I don’t have the time for it anymore.

Please let me know if you want new pics (the ones posted are not new).
Looking for $2500 OBO
Thanks!

Looks like fun but your pics blow. About how fast does it go?

My cellphone doesn’t function well as a camera.

Top speed with the clutch that is in it is probably 32-35mph. It is fast for what it is, and any faster they are scary.

more info on the chain issue plz

There are a handful of chains on this thing. The pumpkin looking thing is the transmission. From the transmission there are " jack " chains that drive the center axle. This center axle then drives the other 2 axles on that side. The “jack” chain popped the master link and I replaced it. Then it popped somewhere else… and so on. Essentially these chains were underwater when I found them and all I did to recondition them was soaking them in used motor oil until I was ready to put them back in the machine. I unfroze a couple of the links and threw them on there. They’ve bound up and or snapped ever since. I do have a larger motor in the beast than what came with it, but new chains would certainly hold the power. Right now, only 1 chain is broken… and I believe $5 would repair it. You would want to tighten the chains before the next ride. This is simple and you just grab the tensioner and push or pull on it (depending on what axle it is) and it will ratchet tighter. The jack drive/chains have a tensioner on them which requires a wrench, because these chains are massive, and do all of the work.

I forgot to mention, I also replaced a couple tensioners.

The MAX dist/warehouse/factory is on William st in Cheektowaga (I believe), I only know how to get there, I don’t know the address. I know most of the people that work there, and about 25 other people who I can get you in contact with for parts or service.

These machines are very simple, which makes them easy to work on.

I have 2 extra bodies for this one.
1 is my original body ( from an older MAX) from the early 70s. This is rough, but would function. The other is a nice shell I thought about throwing on it because it has a larger access to the motor, and diamond plate covering everything behind the rollbar.

You can have all new chains in this thing for like $100 I believe.

Did I mention that it floats? And moves in the water?

I will let my father know. If I had a nickel for every time he mentioned wanting one of these when I was growing up…

They are great. I have a bunch of video, and websites with video, of these things in action. A friend of mine has a handful of them (including the one I had from the 70s) and I can ride his whenever I want, or I would be more inclined to just fix this one.

I’ll pay a 10% finders fee at the asking price.

$2K and I’ll deliver it.

Hasn’t been moved at all for a year and I’m looking for a turbo/injectors for my truck.

BEST OFFERS ANYONE?

im gonna miss this 6 wheeled beast

If it helps… this will be paying for a GTP38R turbo for my truck…

$1500.

GTP38R is no longer going to be big enough for my plans. Would like to sell it before New Years.

If we are going lower i can offer you 1000

At $1500 my father may want this, I will ask him tomorrow when I see him and get back to you.

Who has land I can use this thing on? I’d buy the hell out of this if I had somewhere to use it. :frowning:
