how would a company go about fixing this? I saw their response/solution, but I mean a large corporation would probably have to script something correct? Either that or go around machine to machine.

We’ve had test equipment shut down because of it here at work. IT won’t let us remove the program, so we’ve got a “work around” while we are running tests.
Weird they didn’t pick that up in a testing environment maybe they outsourced that department to India

Most real enterprises test updates on their base images before rolling out updates anyways.
from what I understand this is NOT happening on every machine, and this was not caught in testing
Group Policy would be one way I guess, we usually don’t test ours out (to my knowledge), unless they are big upgrades like version, rather than patches. We are a much smaller scale however.
