Media Center: PC -> TV

So lately I’ve been looking into something that will let me view media (movies, mp3, pictures)
from my PC to my TV.

I’ve debated on buying a small PC and networking it but that means having a PC box in my living
room which I don’t really want.

My laptop doesn’t have SVideo so that meant investing in a PC->TV converter.

One of my co-workers mentioned this product. And I’m heavily considering it.
Any opinions or suggestions?

It’s basically a portable standalone media box that lets you play media directly off an HDD or via a network stream.

Price: $140 (+ $100 for a 300GB HD)

For me, there isn’t enough codec support.

from the Mediagate mg-35 info page:
Movie MPEG 1, 2, 4 (MPG, MPEG, AVI, M2V, DAT, VOB, etc) , XviD (Except GMC, Qpel option applied)
Music MP3, OGG Vorbis
Photo JPG

What else should be seen (for high def content):
h.264

Edit: Here’s what I use

Would you be able to play porn in HD quality with this or not?

I was expecting “Gonad you wouldn’t be able to connect your PC to your TV if your name was HDMI”

Close, it was just missing that Mark finesse!
