MSC @ Nikko Circuit Rd. 9 – 09-21-2008
The well known Nikko Circuit recently hosted Rd. 9 of the Motor Sports Challenge. MSC as many know is the detuned version of pro D1GP. An organization which is basically amateur-pro type drifting without all the bling of corporate sponsors or beauty pageant judges. Personally I appreciate this drifting series a lot more than D1GP. Its based around the fundamentals of drifting. And not just the size of your pocket book.
Orido & Tanaguchi were on hand for judging. Along with some well known shops. Weld had there JZX100 and 110 on hand. Run Free had a handful of 86s running and of course Kazama and Kunny had some cars. Not to mention several others.
Few photos from Rd. 9
Weld Techique Factory. Johnny was absent I’m afraid but was nice to see his factory works drivers out in full swing.
Few more JZ models. Black JZX90 was driven by a girl. Shot was hot and fast.
Long time favorites here, the Nissan Laurel in early-mid generation. Have only seen a small handful these cars in full build mode. Just not a common car for drifting.
The infamous GTS R33 sedan and 32 in full assault. Check out the lift on the 32!
S Chassis’s always out in big numbers.
Few Rotary’s. Foresight Spec II is by far the nicest aero for the FC.
And last but not least, the well molested AE86’s in full swing.
