Our meetings are always about the same thing, therefore I just think of them as breaks. The day goes by faster and I get away from my desk for an hour or so.
I am in sales. I sit at a computer all day talking to people on the phone. I have some customers that will keep me on the phone asking me retarded technical or engineering questions that i can answer while calling karter fat and moderating the rest of the useless posts here. I would give my job in the winter a 2/10 on the hard scale, and in the summer a 12/10. That is why I am unfortunately not as active come the summer months, that is the height of construction season and the height of my phone and e-mails never ending.
our meetings are ridiculous. every friday we have a meeting that takes about 2-5 hours but could easily be condensed to 20-30 minutes of true input.
Ditto.
Our meetings are most productive at the River Grill.
My cool manager did catch me 2x taking a mini nap at a meeting. It didn’t bother her, she just joked about it with me. I told her I had a headache and I was bored at the meeting. She agreed.
I have weekly meetings for project installs but my boss is excellent at planning and coming up with time tables for the meetings so we actually cover what needs to be discussed. I have been in meetings that you spend 2 hours talking about the same thing and solving NOTHING. We need to stay on customers for T1/PRI orders and stuff too so weekly ones are helpful to make sure people are doing what they need to be
Sometimes tho, I spend an hour in a meeting that I only interact for 5 minutes which is a waste of time but I usually play SimCity on my phone or something.
Didn’t have a lot of them at my old job (1 every month or so). They always provided food so it wasnt too bad. I would usualy sit in the back and sleep the whole time.
this isn’t surprising in the least :purextc:
sometimes meetings are good, sometimes not. For me, it is about 50/50 usless to useful.
I always learn a lot at my meetings, however they take wayyyy too long. Theyd be better if they were about half the time and half as frequent.
I enjoy places that feel the need to have conference calls with 15+ people for everything…CEO, CFO, bunch of random other execs on a conference call to discuss something technical…weeeeeeeeeeee
It’s awesome when execs try to sound like they know what they are talking about.
our meetings usually consist of design reviews and such. It’s just a normal part of the day so they really don’t feel like meetings… they usually only involve 3-5 people, so that probably helps a lot.
I can’t wait to have meetings, my current job is very monotonus
It sounds like your project manager sucks at life.
lol I was just a bitch laborer. The only reason I had to go was because they were mandatory for the maintenance people. They were basically heads up meetings, but I already knew what was going on as my dept. was involved in almost everything the park did.
Behind the times more than anything.
Today, another 1.5 hour meeting. And nothing accomplished.
I’m sure we’ll have another one on Monday.
Never consistent. We never finish on a topic, we move to the next, then bounce back to the first. Never resolve anything.
