I have noticed a lot of activity from the day crew lately, which leads me to believe that people are not working too hard, or its people working really hard which leads to free time.
Lately, I think I am working at about an 8 after lunch today it will probably be a 2.
i usually work at a 9 before lunch, and after lunch at a 5. although if im working on something interesting it’s a 10 all day. boredom or disinterest leads me to nyspeed.
although i’ve gone months without coming on nyspeed, and just working at a 8 or 9 all day anyways.
today is a definite 2. i sent out some emails. took a dump. drank coffee. set up hotel for a work trip to toronto. ate fruit snacks. i’m about to leave for lunch. weigh leaving early vs. sticking out for more $.
so actually production is high. just not work related.
usually 9+… today however after this fucking database I was working on corrupted half of the tables & forms in it I am about ready to drop down to 0 and break out some beers. FUCK.
Lately, about a 4. I just wrote interfaces for 2 online ATM’s and they were both in certification, which means a lot of time where I’m sitting around waiting for something to break. My online secure backup program was rolled out to clients a few weeks ago as well, so I’ve been dealing with a few minor production issues there as well. All in all, lots of sitting around waiting for errors.
Next week I’m sure I’ll be starting a new project, so I’ll be busy again.
I’ll be honest too, between the nice weather, the Sabres losing last night, the baby keeping me up a lot and the fact that it’s Friday… I’m not going to much at all today.
Lately about a 3. But they’re FINALLY starting to just dump work on me. “OMG if we throw him in the deep end he’ll actually swim?” So spurts of my typical 11 are getting more and more frequent.
oh god, 2 maybe? 3? Cisco launched a new vertical market and have us taking care of it, problem is, we have NOTHING to so with this solution, so in the past 3 hours, I’ve spoken to two clients, both of which had nothing to do with this new vertical.
BUT, I did solve the 5x5x5 rubiks cube again, I got a coffee from the cafe’, I’m on lunch in an hour, and I’ve been asking everyone if they know that song “Drop it like it’s hot” , well, I wanna know what the hell he keeps dropping.
for the past year or so…
3-5. unless i have a hard deadline like emc compliance testing or soemthing.
then its a 10
there is little no to motivation for me here other than i need the job.
there are more than enough opportunities for increased responsibilities…
i tried that route and get shafted. work is paying for the MS degree, but could care less when i actually apply the nefound knowledge.
“its easier to change the rest of the world” was my favorite beating to get.
