oh? what happened? didnt they used to go to like 11-12 or something way way up there?
prior to that they rev’d to 9k… but they also went through new waterpumps like every 15k miles so honda got tired of replacing them, rebuilt the motor to make more power down low, and didnt need to rev it as high.
actually 04+ is a 2.2 and only revs to 8k
pre 04 are the 2.0 that revs to 9k
thats still VERY impressive for a car motor. mine is like 6K and its done, heh
yeah i knew it changed rfom 9k to 8k, but i thought for sure the year was 02-03’s that were different. i’m no s2k fanboi tho so i duno, ask joey
nah 2000-2003 are the same 2.0
04+ is a 2.2
ive looked into that a bit.
The s2000 motor changed in 04 to a f22c it makes about 15 more whp but the redline dropped to 8.If you serious about a s2000 i own a 07 AP2 and have driven a AP1 as well.Drive both cars and decide for your self.A AP1 redline more fun but it makes less power and a AP2 has a better rear end,and looks allot better stock. The cars run the about same times.
F20c > F22c
My opinion
the f20c makes the most power per liter of any naturally aspirated engine
are they really really high compression?
11.5:1 is what the interweb tells me, thats pretty high for a factory car I guess.
edited slightly to prevent the rotary boys from starting all out war ;D
hahaha
i like rotary, a nice FD makes me sport a semi
