Mid 80s Porsche Targa??

I have always wanted one of these, and I am going to look at one next week.

What are some common problems too look for?

Are any years considerably better than others?

I have purchased old cars before, so I will be able to find body work and paint problems.

apperently your best bet is to stick to 80-83 after 79 they added a few more hp but its still within the stretch of years where you could have a “reliable” porsche 911. if you do have to fix it be prepared to bend over as i have talked to a few people who restore 911’s and they said parts are astronomical. if you want the best bang for your buck you should look into a mid engine 914…

but its a german car, they never break

Ugh, bastard, that’s my next project car!

Rennlist Buying a 911

Like walker sort of said, it’s very affordable to buy, but not to own.

X…

The one I have in mind is an 82 they guys says well maintained 2nd owner.

I don’t want a 914, I love the looks of the 911 targa maybe ill just put a motor, suspension and wheels on the Super beetle

To my knowledge the car is not in need of a restoration,
