Military guys step in (boot question)

Figure you guys could add some suggestions on a good set of boots.

I’m trying out for my agency’s tactical team this fall… a lot of the selection course is made up of longer distance ruck marches (10-15 miles) with ~80lb ruck.
Currently I am doing 6 miles at about 15min/mile pace with 50 lbs +duty belt/sidearm and rifle. I’m completing these with somewhat ease (just a bit of foot pain/blisters)
The biggest thing that is holding me back is my boots, I have a set of Danners, that are just TOO heavy and don’t fit terribly well.
Everyone I talk to raves about the Rocky S2V’s:

I also hear good things about Oakley’s but then I hear they don’t hold up too well.

Any other boot suggestions are highly appreciated. Thanks!

Oakleys dont hold up, but are good short term, or light duty (not humping 80lbs) those Rockys are a great pick.

my $.02 is to get a good custom made insole. Those boots are also a good pick. I never has much choice in boots as there were regulations for boots when I was in the army. Thise is also the same reason my ankles and back are shot. lol

I always just wore what was issued. Luckily I never had blister/feet problems that many of the other guys did when doing long rucks.

Can’t go wrong with Rocky’s.

and FYI if you don’t know yet. invest in mole skin for those blisters or areas beginning to blister.
