anyone know what chip to buy and how to install it?

the on thing a moded ps2 will do for you is play burnt games
I know. Im also trying to install a hard drive i have laying around into my fat ps2. kinda understand what to do but could use some help.
this is the one that i had in my PS2 and it worked great. the soldering part sucks though.
find an old linux kit or final fantasy drive on ebay and get it
which chip did you use though, there are like 7 different ones.
I recommend using HD Loader combo with Network adapter for the IDE and large hard drive (3.0+ will work with over 200gb hd). copy games from computer to the hard drive unless you have patience for the ps2’s drive using special utility. I use WinHiip program. Now don’t misplace the HD loader CD like I did:bigthumb:
play japanese games like I do, but not all games will work.
