Copying Playstation games

Is there a such thing?

And anyone know what(s) needed so i may attempt this.

You need a chip from modchip.com. Mine was solderless.(sp?)

Throw the PS2 game in your DVD Burner.
Copy it to a DVD.

Very very easy… trust me.
*Some may not work… there are a few games that are on dual layer dvd’s (Ex. Gran Turismo 4)

If you have an older style playstation may i recommend

hd advance or hd loader

I’ve seen them in action and i might get it even tho i have a mod chip
95% of games work fine on it and it loads games rather faster and plays smoother

Edit* will work with slims too. Usb Drive style

Never did get to try that. How’s it work?

Awesome.

I have a chip, my friend has the hdadvance and hdd in a “old style” ps2
He DLs games via torrents

gets them into .iso format and uses “PS2 handiness” to transfer it to the ps2 hdd (for this process he takes it outta his ps2 and puts it in his pc)

You can also “backup” games off the orginal disk if you dont want to dl shit and put the hard drive in your pc.

It works way better than my chip and in the last year he ahs ran into 1 or 2 games that wouldn’t work.

And on the upside You dont have to install chip, doesnt void warranty (who cares), and it loads fucking fast.

Eh, sounds like way to much of a hassle. It’s easier to put the chip in, copy the game and play it like that.

“Ooo check this new game I just downloaded!”
“Lets play!”
“Ok let me just shut down for a minute…”
“But…”
“It’ll only take a minute… I just need to put my PS2 HDD in the computer and hook it up so that I can transfer this game to it.”
“Wouldn’t it be quicker to just burn it to a DVD?”
“No way… I’m getting the hang of swapping this beast in and out. MOM… Where’s the philips screwdriver???”
“Don’t worry about it man… I don’t feel like playing Metal Gear Solid 8: Revenge of the Prostate anyways. I have to leave in an hour.”

I know this whole thing was corny and I don’t care but to cut it short… I wish there was an easier way to do this whole thing. You can’t transfer via USB or anything? I guess it would be ok if you had an external case to pop the HDD into for your PC…

I haven’t had a single problem with the chip that I put in my PS2… plays everything I throw at it.

yeah you can transfer via network
and mine plays everything like a champ its just the play speed with the hdd is flawless and load times almost non existant

and if you do it for the slim design you have to use a usb hdd
sooooo easy

Sweet… I figured you’d have to be able to do that.

The IDE hdd is faster, for example with loads of 3 seconds on the IDE would mean 6 seconds using the USB.

The nice thing about USB is easy unplug and plug back in to comp, but the transfer speeds via USB would take longer than just taking off a slave hdd and putting it in.

By the time you burn one DVD which takes about 12 minutes (if you have an ISO already on there), I could have transferred 3 games and snapped the hdd back into the ps2 and booted it.

12 minutes? hehe… how about 5 minutes.

I have to burn at 4x since i have cheap dvds so they do not skip

That’s cool… I’ve had to do that before. The burner I have now burns slow on some of my dvd-r’s… cheap brand. My Sony DVD+r’s though… mmm mmm good.

i have hd loader. REALLY REALLY easy! i’d recommend.
