So i got up at 5am this morning to head out to Newburgh NY and pick up my new DD … 2001 BMW 525iT, black/beige, cold weather package, sun roof.
When i got there it had a popped rear tire, luckily there was a tire place near by along with a full sized spare (although flat) in the back. Car came with Michelin winters in the rear, but also the summer tires were in the car.
Some damage around both rear wheel wells, and the rear bumper got all scuffed up from the stupid fork lift! Also there is some nice cancer on the tailgate that i have to take care of.
Dirty after the ride home:
Small dents on driver side wheel well
Lots of cancer
A little more cancer
Scuffing over the passenger wheel well
Stupid fork lifts!
I was worried about the condition of the headlights…
Quick wipe down at the quarter wash:
But the lights cleaned up nicely
no, you can get 5spd. if you’re going with the auto/step you have to get at least teh 530 or it’s really got way too little power for the weight… but I’m sure you got this thing for like $5k (hope you didn’t pay more) so enjoy it for what it is.
the 540iT’s where impossible to find in manual in this country (waiting for mike to show me like the two grey market examples which is why I didn’t say they weren’t, but I am almost possible you could never get a 540/6iT in this states)
Not sure about time frame yet. gotta sell the banana first. And i’ll drive you to lunch once i find something large to put in the back to make it uncomfortable for you!
Well warm weather + rain = time to do some detailing/upkeep on the car, so i got down to it.
Oil change
Air filter change
Spark Plug change
Put the ‘summer’ tires back on
Detailed the crap out of the inside
Interior came out pretty good. For being a 100k+ mile car, only the driver seat is wearing away. The back seats are permanently indented for kid seats though, so thats not cool. I did manage to get a lot of coffee and pop stains out from the passenger side and the back. Along with all the sneaker marks on the backs of the front seats.
is that a average mpg meter on the bottom of the tach? ive never seen a one like that before thats kind of neat. nice buy good luck with the rust and the fork lift damage that sucks.
