Isn’t there some way to grow and harvest these things?
From what I have been told, its nearly impossible… some people sell the spores on ebay, but its basically bullshit from what I hear. The soil has to be perfect, etc… Im sure it might be able to be done, but if so I would think a company would grow them year round indoors to make a lot of $$. Hence why they are so rare / expensive…
their growth appears to be the byproduct of the natural death of certian trees… commercially they control forest fires to grow them… neat industry.

Well guys, it looks like the season is over… I went out yesterday and found one, but it was rotted… If any of you guys like mushrooms and really want to try these, they are selling on ebay for fairly cheap. $25 a lb/ + $10 shipping. It must have been a good season for people to sell them that cheap.
