Mugen Si at the dealer

Well I stopped in Washington Honda today and they had a Mugen Si sitting in there showroom, it wasn’t too bad but they had it marked up 2,500 which put it at just over 32k, that’s pretty damn close to a s2000 price range.

And I heard they are marking them up as much as 7k in California that’s just ridiculous!

what are the differences between a mugen and a standard si?

the aero parts (front underbody spoiler, rear diffuser, side skirts, rear spoiler)
a mugen exhaust
mugen suspensions
mugen wheels which are pretty nice I must say
There are only 999 of them being built
And of course all the Mugen badges

shady side honda has one also the wifes brother works there and said they got one in last week

I haven’t seen one in person yet.

$32,000 for a Civic is a little absurd, though.

:greddy:

i thought the civic was the economy car?

that is now the fit

It’s neat, but god-awful expensive.

Pretty damn nice. Price is kind of crazy though.

that would be crack smoking crazy to buy that when an s2k is only a couple dollars more, and a ms3 is $10,000 less

I mean I guess the driving thing is there is only 999 of them

i’ll pass on the 4 door.

You could build a Si for cheaper that had roughly the same handling (or better if your willing to actaully add camber to the damn front end). And probably still have money left over to get a few bolt-ons for the engine. As wrayzor said the fact they are factory numbered means they will still sorta be worth something down the road. Plus you get a warranty which I guess is nice. I just don’t see the point of spending 30k on a civic thats only going to get you 1 second or so more on a road course, but be slower in the street. If they would have build this to be more of a full blown track model like the ITR was (bigger brakes, more power, even better suspension tweaks, subframe bracing, etc) then it might be worth the asking price.

i would rather do what habib said put the money into my si and make it faster

that and less people look at mine since it looks just like every other civic on the road

Exactly.

It’s JDM though? That alone is worth 30k

yea, but they wouldn’t want to do that now since they are releasing the RR in Japan, its such bs when they do that

no its USDM

Well thats one of the rumors I’ve been hearing, that the Mugen is a “test” of sorts to see if there is still interest in tuner versions of their products. And if the Mugen Si thing goes well they will consider bringing other tuner versions to the US market. They just should have skipped the BS and gave us something worth while right off the bat, but we should be happy they are at least doing something with their model line even if its not the Type-R.

Of course the US gets the dumbed down version.

Japanese makes my brain hurt
