Music...again.

Sorry to take another stab at a music thread but I’ve really been in a music mood recently.

It was odd, I took a HUGE break from music and really the only time I heard it was in the car on my stock radio and 2 front speakers.

Anyway, like I said, i’ve fallen into a giant music mood and I thought I’d share some ridiculously good tunes. I’m into acoustic stuff as of this moment.

  1. Alexisonfire. More importantly Dallas Green (the singer/guitarist). Holy balls. This guy’s voice will make you want to cry. He’s been doing a ton of solo stuff with basically just him and a guitar. You can d/l it by looking up Dallas Green. I recommend “In the water I am beautiful”.

  2. Thrice. The old thrice was MUCH better than the new shit they’re making. However there’s a few diamonds you can find if you really look. For example “Stare at the Sun (acoustic)”. Again, this song is really deep. If you want harder stuff go with “Torch to end all torches”

  3. Dave Matthews Band. I love these guys. So talented. Nuff said. Download “#41”. Soooo good.

  4. Aesop Rock. Nerd hip-hop, underground, whatever you wanna call it, he’s more talented than most people out there. Download “Daylight” followed by “Night light” followed by “Holy Smokes” followed by “9-5ers Anthem”. This stuff is at the top of the hip-hop food chain/

  5. Immortal Technique. Underground Hip hop that’ll knock you flat on your back. Very political, outspoken, lyrical. get “Industrial Revolution”, “Dance with the Devil”, “Harlem Streets”, and so forth.

  6. AFI. DEFINATELY NOT THE NEW STUFF. DON’T EVEN GO NEAR IT. all their old albums absolutely rape the new shit. Saw them live, amazing. “Morningstar”, “6 to 8”, “God Called In Sick Today”, etc.

  7. Catch 22. for all the ska-heads. “As the footsteps die out forever” “12341234” “Keasby Nights” “Supernothing”. Hung out with these guys at the 2001 (?) Vans Warped Tour. Amazing guys.

8] Daddy Yankee. Reggaeton. All good stuff. “Oye Mi Canto” is probably the best song. Makes you want to dance.

  1. The Roots. “You got me”. Werd.

  2. Buddy Rich. “Birdland” for the jazz heads. Classic tune.

Feel free to add more. I’m always looking for more stuff.

I been listening to the Maroon 5 cd a lot lately. It’ a bit old but lots of
good songs on there.

For some reason I’m intersted in hearing the new Oasis album that’s
coming out soon.

Also, I don’t know if Coldplay has any new album coming out but their
latest single “Speed of Sound” is pretty nice.

Weird, my taste in mucic has changed so much in the last year or two.

I used to be all gangsta rap/hip-hop and reggae and shit and now I’m
listening to stuff like Oasis, Coldplay, Maroon 5. :ugh:

Dave Mathew’s Band is good too. I should give their new stuff a try.

Alexisonfire? The fuck.
That’s not singing, that’s just some crazy dude yelling his lungs out.

IBmainstream :hsugh:

Initial D - Go Godzilla Go

I’m big into UK techno, so I’ve been listening to a lot of leftfield they have done a lot of soundtrack work lately, a few songs off the hackers soundtrack, and they did the opening theme to the transformers “beat machines” Tv series.

I’ve been listening to the wipeout video game soundtracks lately as well, and of course leftfield is on them too.

I dunno fluke, prodigy, chemical bothers, chrystal method.

I’ve also been into a big 80’s mood too. Duran Duran, styx, stuff like that. even going back a bit more to teh who…

big peter gabriel fan too so that’s been playing a bit too…

I’m just bored with today’s “emo rock” and euro trance… bleh. Initial D soundtracks are more or less euro trance in japanese so… it’s ok once and awhile but I’m not a huge fan of that music.

later

Werd on the Immortal Technique haha. I generally dont like rap but his beats and rhymes are good, and its not stupiod bling rap, and really has a meaning. I have no respect for mainstream rap whatsoever.

Ive been listening to a band called Mindless Self Indulgence for the past little while, they have some funny shit, very offensive, good for shock value hahah. Seeing them in concert June 1st

System’s new cd “Mesmerized” is currently in my cars CD player, rockin album IMO, beats the shit out of the appropriately named “Steal This Album” haha. Some very good songs but it may take a little time to grow on you. Cant wait for their concert.

I also just learned of the most hardcore concert coming on June 12th… Manowar with special guest Rhapsody. Goddamn these bands rule hahahah, there is nothing more hardcore and epic than magic metal. Rhapsody is out of Italy and has sold over a million records worldwide, and with good reason haha, their music belongs in some soft of epic middle ages movie.

lol regular alexisonfire as a band is usually screaming and yelling. but if you download stuff by Dallas Green, it’s really mellow. Stuff to make love to your lady to.

I thought that was what Initial D music was for… lol

http://ca.geocities.com/solarian@rogers.com/list.htm <— That’s what I listen to.

I listen to rap mostly. More for the beats than the lyrics. Mike JonesWHOMike Jones has a pretty good vibe to his cd. Stat Quo too. Oh ya and Game’s older ish. NWA and Untold Story.

I thought that was what Initial D music was for… lol[/quote]

“Gonna get you, i’m a space boy! Whoa whoa whoa whoa. I’m ready.”

lol. something like that?

I got to the point about 2 years ago that I hate rap. I used to listen to it, but now I cannot stand any of that type of music, no offence at all.

Im into more Hard music now, I think alexisonfire is great and their new CD Watchout was awesome but most dont like them. I gotta say that since last September my ALL TIME favorite band is definately Rise Against. These guys are absolutely incrediblen and put out a cd that absolutely blew me away. To this day I listen to it a couple times a week and have by no way gotten sick of it at all. but ya…

If Im in a mellow mood, Jack Johnson is prolly my favorite and I will definately look into Dallas Green for sure, I guarantee Ill like it.

Alexonfire is awesome!

I listen to the sound of one hand slapping.
