He done went and broke it. Best he can figure (hasn’t torn it apart yet due to military service) it threw a rod and locked the motor…but that dan thing lasted a good 2 years running every weekend on the bottle. I think i tmight have been a factory freak because even before the juice that thing would spank most other 5.0s. He now has a Mach I he is putting a procharger on (that is when he get back from plaing in sadams sandbox in about a year).

ya, i wouldnt go as far to say that a car is gay w/ a v6 w/o a power adder , but its def sweet when they do have them…but then u still wont ever get the exhaust tone of a v8 in your v6 stang w/ a power adder and that’d bother me if i were u…just my .02 though

I agree though. A factory forced induction is nice, but doesn’t automatically mean it’s badass. My POS altima with a 4-banger is faster than my uncles 1.8t audi a4, not by much but it did beat it the 4 times we have raced. The nice thing about forced induction is how cheap it is to mod, at the start.
Ya, i know, that is what sux! IMO, there is nothing sweeter than the sound of a 5.0 w/ flowmasters. Right now my car kind of sound like a cross between a pissed off honda and a harly. Hoepfully when i get those cats on (either is or next weekend) it will help to tone it down. You can make a 6 sound good, but like you said, no where near as good as an 8! :crying:
Exactly! A FI car is mean from the factory, but it is already boosted. Since mine (or any other non blown motor) is NA, the option to boost is still there in our quest for power.
yep. and i will always give v8 stangs props for the way they sound. in my opinion they always sound cooler than GM…sometimes i get kinda jealous actually. but oh well :spank:
It is because of the firing order. 5.0 fire off two cyls on the same side of the motor at the same time. That creats that raspy growl.
not really. a vw/audi 1.8t is a turd from the factory. When modded it is a good engine, but 170-180 hp with a turbo is lame
i dunno man, there are quite a few LS1 vehicles that just fucking scream at the race track.
There are always exceptions either way (awsome na and and sucky blown) but i was just pointg out that boost is always an option on a factory NA car.
no doubt. i mean GM performance cars do sound awesome, but im reffering to that tone that stangs have. i never heard a GM car that had the tone of some of those stangs.hard to explain
GM has a “tingy” sound compared to fords. The dodge trucks sound awesome with a nice muffler, not even fords sound that good.
