I was really trying to make do with the existing laundry hook ups. However, when I went to install the vent, I noticed it was exceptionally loose going into the wall. It was all metal duct, until it made a 90 inside the wall, it was flexible vinyl, which was all split. The existing dryer was just venting into the wall void, collecting lint. Tearing out the ceiling to install the new vent, basically led to remodeling the entire room. I had to reroute & install 10’ of new gas line, in order to stack the washer & dryer, and make the most of the space. While we were doing the flooring in the laundry room, we decided to extend it out into the entry room. The flooring is Allure Resilient Plank from HD. 100% waterproof. A tolerable faux wood finish. This was the 2nd of two additions, so the wiring was far newer than the rest of the house, but I replaced all the switches and outlets and some new energy star lights. I still need to install the shoe molding. Once the carpet was gone, and the room was functional, I pretty much stopped working on it. Enjoy.
looks good, you should finish those stairs and make a nice little tile or wood landing.I wish my laundry was on the first floor. I will post pics of my laundry setup when I done studding some walls in my basement.
Thanks. The color is Kumquat from Behr @ HD. We had it in our bedroom at our apartment and it was a little too bright. This time we bought the recommended tinted primer, and it turned out great.
