Oh question for the OP, what would you say it would cost to buy/build that lixno’s guys bike??
over 5k for the bike + those wheels are $1,400 each! Mines going to be the same thing except different wheels obv.
$2700 for my bike
$450 street legal kit
$1000 rims/tires/brakes
$400 powder coating
$500 exhaust plastics random shit…
id say buy a already tagged ktm 525 for that price instead…
I droped everything off at powder tech today. EVERYTHING possible on the frame/motor is going flat black. I will have it back end of next week. As for my valve cover - just wait and see :cool
uh oh here comes the 06 drz400sm to blow them all away :banana
:nono
Damn, nothins cheap anymore :lol
yah my bike is basically stock, it has just some aftermarket plastic, lights, home made 12 bar, but basically stock.
got everything back from powdercoat - Flat black
bought some rims/tires too. 17x5, 1 17x3.5 excel wheels with black talon hubs mounted on 160/zr17 and 120/70zr17 michelin pilot power tires - rear tire is going to rub the chain… gota fix that
Also got my valve cover done - sky white and the faces are bronze to match my rims
Next on the list is to assemble everything and order some parts. i need swingarm bearings before i can do much else. then on to exhaust, chain, pro taper bars/top clamp then on to the body but i got the most important parts taken car of. i dont know what i am going to do for a rear taillight. I want something that has the blinkers in it, and dont plan on making any holes/mounts onto the rear fender (cleannnnn) Any ideas?
SICK buddy!!! I love the flat black, it’s gonna look so nasty!
the bike and car are gonna look pimp
That bike is going to look sick murdered out! Are you using the stock fork and suspension or sending it out to get worked on. Im pretty sure supermoto bikes use different ride height, dampening and rebound rates and what not.
Yea they lower the bike a bit and the suspension is way different then stock. Many people use the stock for a street fighter tho. If i were rich id have it sent out but for now its staying the way it is. I will have it re valved for my weight and change the rebound rates some point over summer. Thanks guys, i hope to have the motor back together and on the frame later tonight
Siiick!
Nice cant wait to see the progress… i thought about putting street tires on my bike because i dont realy race anymore but it would be weak on the street. So there would be no point in making it road legal. Drive past my house on a sunny afternoon though and you might see some nasty highchairs and spreader wheelies :nod
that is gonna look realy good when done! :nod :nod
you gonna put a “street” friendly front fender on it? will look a ton better. its gonna look pretty sweet anyways.
acerbis motard fender is nasty, i had one on my drz400sm
Sweet rims!
I always thought oldschool spoked wheels look better on streetbikes especially when they are modern sizes.
the whole body is going to be street friendly haha different number plates and front headlight/fender
update
I’m waiting for my swingarm bearings they should be here by the end of the week.
Must be nice to have just one cylinder and one carb to worry about ;D
Good progress!
Man I can’t wait till spring so I can work on my beast.
why did you not p/c the top tripple??
